This famous alley was used by pirates such as Jean Lafitte as a black market to sell goods stolen from Spanish ships in the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean. Many a deal gone wrong was settled by a duel in its neighboring garden. The sounds of the market place and the dueling gardens are said to be heard in the wee hours of the morning.

Most of our haunted tours include a break in a haunted bar (except for youth private groups). This iconic bar is a favorite for many guests. Once used as a blacksmith shop, it is the oldest operating bar in the country. It is home to a wide array of ghosts including that of Jean Lafitte it is said.
